2025 George Harradon Installation

Arriving with the dawn chorus at The Masonic Hall at Wyrebank, Garstang on Monday 24th  November, were members of George Harradon Mark Lodge; 956 for their Installation meeting. Well it was not quite that early, but it just seemed like it. Having left home at 07.30 to miss the early morning traffic on the M56 and Lymm Junction on the M6; only to be met with a big sign saying 20 mins delays between junctions 26 to 28; which soon changed to 30 mins? (Yes, I have been spending a lot of time with my mate Austin lately.)

Most of those who were attending the meeting did have time for coffee before the meeting. One of those who got there after me was the Master Elect WBro Jorge Perez, Provincial Grand Junior Warden. The Worshipful Master, WBro Mike Pinckard opened the Lodge and then greeted VWBro Geoff Bury, APGM. He also welcomed the Representative of the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master; WBro Malcolm Serjeant.

They were accompanied by WBro David Sear, the PGM’s Special Rep for Garstang; Lancaster and all points North and WBro Chris Walls, Provincial Grand Senior Warden and other Acting Provincial Offices. With the salutations given and WBro Chris Walls in the Senior Wardens chair for the Installation, the Lodge DC, WBro Derek Gaskell presented the Master elect WBro Jorge Perez to the Master for the purpose of Installation.
Everyone
It was a smashing ceremony; mind you, would you expect anything less from WBro Mike Pinckard? WBro Sandy Kean presented the Working Tools to the Master. The Keystone Jewel was presented by WBro Derek Gaskell, who also presented WBro Jorge Perez with the Grand Master’s Charity Collar Jewel which had been presented to the Lodge at the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting back in May. WBro David Sear gave the address to the Master. The address to the Wardens was given by WBro Peter Craven. VWBro Geoff Bury gave the address to the Overseers and the addresses were completed by the address to the Brethren given by WBro Malcolm Serjeant. These four addresses were of the highest quality and matched the quality of the ceremony conducted by WBro Mike Pinckard.

With the meeting closed it was time for a few drinks before an excellent lunch. With the Toasts completed it was time for many of those attending to dash off to a Team Visit and another meal. The only disappointment was the turnout for the meeting with less than half the number than attended  last year’s Rededication and Installation meeting. We wish Jorge a good year and hope for a better turnout for the next meeting at Ormskirk on 23rd March 2026.
